        After the Italian GP Marc Marquez had to get off his bike once again in an attempt to resolve, once and for all, the problems he&rsquo;s been having with his arm since injuring it at the Spanish GP in 2020. Hence, the eight-time champion flew to the Mayo Clinic, in the US, to undergo a fourth surgery on his right humerus. He is now back in Spain to start with his rehabilitation, with HRC team manager Alberto Puig having this to say to motogp.com: "The operation went well, doctor Sanchez Sotelo was very happy and Marc is already back in Spain. He will start slowly with his recovery, following the doctor&rsquo;s recommendations. We&rsquo;re very pleased that he&rsquo;s already home and can start focusing on his recovery.&rdquo; Marquez: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s nice when you can come home quickly from hospital&rdquo;  The whole paddock was thinking of him as he left the paddock to have this latest operation, with many riders sending him messages with their best wishes. Marquez wants to get back to winning ways again after his rehabilitation and Puig also hopes to see Marquez back in the garage and, above all, on the highest step of the podium again: "The doctor has said that Marc needs to take things step by step, with regular check-ups with Dr. Samuel Antu&ntilde;a in Spain. Both the medical teams are working in close contact, and this is very important. We&rsquo;ll evaluate the situation every two to three weeks more or less. The priority now is that the bone heals in order to avoid any significant complications". And avoid the same mistake they made in the past, or rather returning to the track too son.         In an interview with Solomoto, the Spanish manager analyses recent generations of reigning class riders and selects what he considers to be the best. The current Repsol Honda Team Director has a long career behind him. After retiring from competition in 1997, he worked as a talent scout for many years, discovering riders like Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa (he was also the Spaniard&rsquo;s personal manager). During said interview, Puig spoke about the Stoner/Pedrosa/Lorenzo age, which he believes is better than the current generation. Puig: "Rossi and Marquez come from an instinctive generation"  Today&rsquo;s MotoGP consists of many young riders, from Mir to Quartararo, already world champions, to Bastianini, winner of this season&rsquo;s first round. The generational changeover is clear to see, with a 29-year old Marc Marquez already one of the category&rsquo;s veterans. The rider level is very high, due also to a very balanced field of manufacturers, with very little between them. The "Fantastic 4" era, in which the races were almost always monopolised by the same riders is now a distant memory and perhaps this is the reason why Alberto Puig has such clear ideas as to which is the best generation: &ldquo;With all due respect for the current riders, the generation that I knew so well, with Stoner, Pedrosa or Lorenzo, was definitely better than the current generation. Those three were of exceptional quality and potential". The three riders that the Spanish manager mentions made their mark on the world championship and MotoGP, both for their overall results &ndash; with two titles for Stoner, five for Lorenzo and three for Pedrosa (in the minor classes), but also for their personalities and riding styles. Puig chooses to exclude Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez from this group, putting them in their own special category: &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t count Rossi and Marquez as they come from an instinctive generation".         Marc Marquez will miss this weekend&rsquo;s Algarve GP, which we already knew. But the details HRC has provided about the training crash, which resulted in a slight concussion for the Spaniard, leave some question marks about the real state of health of #93. Some new details have now emerged from Spain and from his team manager Alberto Puig. Ill effects were not immediate  As communicated by Honda, on Tuesday 2 November, Marquez crashed while training off-road, hitting his head, which led to the subsequent medical check-ups. Might his arm have suffered further trauma?  The concussion might have left after-effects that would mean he might not feel safe riding the bike. But the biggest question is whether or not his previously injured arm has suffered any additional trauma during the crash? Team manager Alberto Puig provides a little more detail, speaking from Portugal: "Marc hit his head while riding enduro in the mountains close to Cervera &ndash; he told Sky Sport motoGP &ndash; It was a minor blow, but once home, he felt dizzy and a little confused. He had no issues with his arm or any other part of the body. He was checked over in Barcelona and on Monday he&rsquo;ll have another check-up to see whether he can race at Valencia&rdquo;. As the team awaits news, Marc will be replaced by Stefan Bradl at Portim&atilde;o: &ldquo;A necessary decision - concludes Puig &ndash; he&rsquo;s the only rider we have.         Honda hadn&rsquo;t scored a double since the Australian GP in 2019 but it managed to do so last weekend at Misano, with its two factory riders. Marc Marquez did an incredible job, considering the track characteristics and the condition of his shoulder, and Pol Espargar&oacute; was finally able to find the right feeling with the RC213V, scoring his first podium of the season. Congratulating the riders  &ldquo;We have to say that we have two very strong riders&rdquo;, admits HRC team manager Alberto Puig while talking to motogp.com. &ldquo;For Marquez to achieve this result in his current condition is incredible. And it&rsquo;s also important for Pol, after the difficulties he&rsquo;s had with the bike&rdquo;. Repsol Honda team manager Alberto Puig analyses the positives and negatives of the latest race weekend. Marquez&rsquo;s growth  Interviewed for official website motogp.come, the Spaniard begins by saying: &ldquo;The final result wasn&rsquo;t good of course. But if we look at Marc&rsquo;s race, we can see that even though he still had some disadvantages, he was able to stick with the best in the dry. This means he&rsquo;s returning to his true potential&rdquo;. Fifteenth, a result he scored after crashing in the wet, is not a result to write home about, but the weekend did bring its positives. A good result considering that Marquez started from twentieth on the grid. Those betting on him for another win after Sachsenring were perhaps left disappointed but it was a positive weekend for the Japanese manufacturer overall. This is what team manager Alberto Puig had to say during an interview with MotoGP.com. &ldquo;We knew it wouldn&rsquo;t be easy&rdquo;  &ldquo;The Sachsenring is a track that really suits the Honda and also Marc Marquez - explains Puig &ndash; Marc had the chance and he grabbed it with both hands&rdquo;. He then spoke about the latest Dutch round: &ldquo;In the past, Assen has never been an easy track for Honda, not like the Sachsenring, and so it was very tough for all the HRC riders. Puig comments: &ldquo;The Honda expectation is always to try and win the title and do as well as possible. This is in the DNA of the company and we want to live up to that&rdquo;. The Japanese manufacturer wants to be back on top of the world at any cost: &ldquo;We know we have rivals, and they all want the same thing, but we&rsquo;re focusing on winning the title, improving our bike and being stronger in our work each day&rdquo;. Marquez&rsquo;s challenge  Puig still has high hopes for the 28-year old Spaniard, despite his lengthy absence from the track: &ldquo;Marc&rsquo;s injury wasn&rsquo;t big, but it&rsquo;s kept him away from racing for a long time. This cannot change what he is though, by which I mean a real champion. I don&rsquo;t know if he&rsquo;ll be different, but he&rsquo;ll find a way to still be the Marc Marquez we know. Only he can do that, though the team will support him 100% as always. What counts is what he expects of himself and what he thinks he needs to do to come back and demonstrate his full potential&rdquo;. MotoGP, Puig: “The injury cannot change Marquez”

        The Respol Honda team has had a very tough season, short on results without Marc Marquez. Alberto Puig knows that the absence of #93 has weighed heavily: "We went from being able to win, to a win becoming almost impossible", he comments on the MotoGP site. "With Marc we could win, without him it was impossible. It&rsquo;s been a strange year for us all, we didn&rsquo;t have chance to win the MotoGP title this season&rdquo;. Alex Marquez&rsquo;s improvement  While Marc was out through injury, Alex made his MotoGP debut and improved race after race: &ldquo;He&rsquo;s done a great job, at the start of the year many people didn&rsquo;t have faith in him. Mid-season he made a step forward&rdquo;, he continues. &ldquo;From a Honda standpoint, he took a bigger step than we expected. We&rsquo;re very pleased with his progress&rdquo;.
