        One of the most interesting aspects of this weekend&rsquo;s BSB round at Thruxton is definitely the presence of Tito Rabat, who is making his debut in the national series aboard the TAG Racing team&rsquo;s Honda CBR1000RR-R. The 2014 Moto2 world champion takes the place of Luke Mossey, who has in turn moved to BMW in PR Racing colours. A different kind of weekend for Scott Redding  The very fast track, constructed on what was a Royal Air Force airfield, will host a number of special guests this weekend, not least Scott Redding, on hand to support Rabat and friend Tom Sykes. The factory BMW rider, who was British champion in 2019, scored a podium on his first appearance at this circuit and can definitely provide the two biggest names on the grid with some useful advice. This is Tito&rsquo;s very first BSB round and he will need to build the right confidence with the specific British Superbike technical regulation. Sykes, on the other hand, returns to a track he&rsquo;s not raced at for more than ten years. The Englishman can also count on the same bike that Redding used, considering that he&rsquo;s competing for the Paul Bird Motorsport team on the Ducati Panigale V4 R. The race schedule  Despite Redding&rsquo;s support, Rabat and Sykes will have their work cut out as they take on some very stiff competition, starting with Tarran Mackenzie who, having returned to winning ways at Brands Hatch, seems ready to defend his 2021 title. And then there&rsquo;s O'Halloran as well as &ldquo;usual suspects&rdquo; Haslam, Ray and Brookes, with Skinner ready to shine after recently making a positive debut in Moto2. As usual, three races will run over the course of the weekend, the first, the Sprint Race, kicking off on Saturday at 15:40 local time, before Race 2 and Race 3 get underway on Sunday at 13:30 and 16:30 respectively.         There was little hope of seeing Lucas Mahias in action at Misano after the Frenchman crashed during the Superpole Race at Estoril, fracturing the fifth metacarpal on his right hand, and now our fears are confirmed. Lucas will not compete in the Romagna Riviera round, allowing himself more time to recover ahead of the Donington round, scheduled for mid-July. Ecco Rabat  He will be replaced at Misano - where the Puccetti team will be celebrating its twentieth anniversary - by Tito Rabat, who returns to Superbike and the same Italian team with which he contested the final rounds of the 2021 season, an eleventh place finish his best result last year. Both satellite Kawasaki teams will therefore field a replacement rider, seeing with Alessandro Delbianco already confirmed to ride for Pedercini. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m really very pleased to be back racing with Kawasaki Puccetti Racing", comments Rabat, "and I thank Manuel and the whole team for putting their trust in me, at their home round no less, which I know is very important for them.         Lucas Mahias was forced to wave the white flag at Jerez, unable to take part in the two SBK races in Andalusia. Following injury, surgery and a return to the track, the Frenchman continues to suffer. Hence, the decision for him to stop racing, to allow him the time to return to full fitness. But Portimao is just around the corner. The Algarve track is hosting the final European round of the season and Kawasaki Puccetti Racing needs a valid rider. And so it has called upon Tito Rabat, the Spaniard having competed with team Barni up until the Magny-Cours round. He and team Barni then split, and Samuele Cavalieri climbed aboard the V4 R, while the former Moto2 champion continued to train, albeit outside of the paddock. But he&rsquo;ll be back in the mix in Portugal: "I&rsquo;m very pleased&rdquo;, comments the 32-year old, &ldquo;because Manuel Puccetti and his team are giving me a great opportunity. I&rsquo;ll do my best to make them happy, giving it my all from start to finish". Track knowledge  Titone will need to get to grips with the Ninja, so different to the Ducati. But he does already know the track: "Yes, I do, having raced there in MotoGP. I like Portimao and will harness all my experience of the track. I can&rsquo;t wait to start, I want to demonstrate my potential". Puccetti is also enthusiastic, the team manager adding: "I am excited to welcome Tito and know we can do well together. Unfortunately, Lucas Mahias has physical problems to resolve and he needs time to recover, but we hope to see him back soon. In the meantime, we aim to do well with Rabat at Portimao". The collaboration between the Barni Racing Team and Esteve Rabat comes to an end, in the sense that the Ducati team and the Spaniard have run their last race together at Magny-Cours and won&rsquo;t be seen in the garage together again this season.  The official press release reads: &quot;Team manager and team owner Marco Barnab&ograve; thank Tito for the determination and commitment showed for the whole season so far, and he wishes him the best professional luck for the future. The Barni Racing Team is already working to continue the season with a new rider starting from the Barcelona round scheduled on September 17th-19th&quot;.         Even if Tito Rabat has not yet got a taste of the team Barni Panigale V4 R, we&rsquo;ve noticed a few interesting technical solutions on the red bike that the Spaniard will ride during the 2021 season. In the cover image you can see an all-Italian carbon creation. The company TK Dischi Freno has its base in Cislago, a small town in the province of Varese. The Mariani family is known for its talent and innovative spirit. Pietro describes the efficiency of the cover in question: "This is a solution adopted by many Moto2 teams - he explains - and it&rsquo;s proved very effective. As well as guaranteeing better aerodynamic flow and less vibration, the cover allows the water radiator to &ldquo;breathe&rdquo; better. It also protects the flywheel and relative sensors, so there are benefits in terms of data acquisition too&rdquo;.  The number 35 rider and his technical team have also worked on his riding position.
