The day of judgment has arrived for Andrea Iannone. A long-awaited day that brings a decision that impacts heavily on the Aprilia rider, or rather a four-year suspension. A decision that may well put an end to Andrea’s career, though the rider is not about to give in, as he confirms in a social media post.

“I’ve suffered a real injustice”

“Today I’ve received the worst injustice I could ever have imagined. They ripped my heart apart from my greatest love. No logical sense on these allegations, accompanied by incorrect facts. For this there will be an appropriate place and time... because I certainly do not give up.”

Andrea’s ordeal began on 3 november 2019 when he tested positive for a doping substance. This led to a suspension, first of 18 months and now four years.

“I am suffering”

“I knew I was facing the strong powers, but I was hoping. I was hoping for intellectual honesty and the affirmation of justice. Right now I am suffering at the highest level I could imagine. Whoever has tried to destroy my life will soon understand how much strength I have in my heart. The power of innocence and above all, a clear conscience. A sentence can modify the events but not the man”.

What we see is a rider who is destroyed, now unable to ride the Aprilia team’s bike in 2021.

MotoGP, Dovizioso clarifies: “This is what I'll do in 2021”
