MotoGP, Fabio Quartararo: “I know Yamaha will listen to me”

Fabio Quartararo cannot wait to begin his new adventure with the factory Yamaha team. After visiting the team’s base in Gerno di Lesmo, the Frenchman is now keen to get to work with his new squad in Qatar.

"I know what I’m capable of"

Becoming a factory rider will allow the Frenchman to be more involved in bike development: “I’m sure I’ll have the opportunity to provide my impressions of the bike and Yamaha will listen to me”, Quartararo told Canal+.

Despite a rather complicated 2020, Quartararo remains confident: “I know I can win, fight for the podium, score pole positions, so we’ll reset and start a new season. I know what I can do and I know that Yamaha is working very hard. It’s going to be a great season".

The aim is to win

El Diablo is keen to get out on track: "I’m constantly looking at my phone to check how many days we have before Qatar”, continued the Frenchman. “I’m curious to get on the bike for the first time. Debuting in new colours is something special”.

And the goal? "We want to fight for the title, of course. It won’t be easy, we know everyone’s very strong, but I’m here to do battle. I know what I’m capable of and am ready to give it my all, in fact I am giving it my all. I’m training hard and Yamaha is working hard, so I’m ready for this challenge”.

Presentation via live streaming

We will get a first look at the livery of Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales’ factory Yamahas on 15 February, during the online team presentation. But we won’t see it on track until 6 March, when testing is set to begin at the Losail circuit in Qatar.
