The Spaniard has completed a test day at Barcelona aboard a RC213V-S and talks about the new-look Turn 10
Before taking to the track at Losail, Qatar, on 6 March, for the first official pre-season test, some of the top riders have been out at Barcelona, Pol Espargaró included.
The new Repsol Honda rider was on track with a RC213V-S, as he waits to ride the HRC bike with which Marc Marquez has won six world titles in the last eight years.
This initial outing went well and Pol shared his thoughts on social media: “My feeling is good. A few things are still lacking, but the bike and I are gradually getting to know each other. I improved as the day went on”. But soon he’ll be out on the real race bike: “And it’s a bit different. I haven’t been on it yet and it’s important to me, not long to go now”.
On Saturday 6 March he will finally get to ride the RC213V and he’s impatient to complete those first laps at Losail: “I’ve been waiting a long time for these tests. I’m as happy now as I was when I first came to MotoGP. I know it will be a complicated project and a long and difficult year, but starting out with Honda in Qatar is going to be really memorable for me and I can’t wait to start”.

As for Turn 10 at the Catalan track, he comments: “This was needed. In recent years, there have been various changes here and I think the track has gone back to its original DNA and the turn with which all the MotoGP riders learned this track”.
