MotoGP: Marquez continues to improve, is a return imminent?

After yesterday’s check-up, the team provides an update as to Marc’s health: “Marquez can now intensify his recovery with a view to gradually returning to racing”

The Repsol Honda team has provided another update as to Marc Marquez’s current physical condition. The Spaniard had another medical check-up yesterday, following a third surgery on his arm three months ago.

The update from Team Honda

The note reads as follows: “In the medical review performed on Marc Marquez, 14 weeks after surgery for an infected pseudoarthrosis of the right humerus, the medical team led by Doctors Samuel Antuña and Ignacio Roger de Oña has clinically and radiographically verified satisfactory progression of bone consolidation. From this moment on, Marquez can now intensify his strength and mobility recovery programme with a view to gradually returning to competitive racing”.

Next steps for Marquez

It is clear then that Marquez’s arm is definitely getting better, things moving in the right direction. Prior to the check-up, the Spanish champion had said that if it all went well, the next step would be to get back on a bike, though not a MotoGP machine. At this point, it looks as if Marc can move forward with this plan. Who knows whether we will see him on track for the first race in Qatar, but for now his name remains on the entry list.
