MotoGP, Marc Marquez on track again, this time at Portimão

His arm injury almost behind him, the Spaniard was out on track at the Portuguese track that will host round the third championship round

Having not ridden since last July, when he injured his right arm, Marc Marquez is now making up for lost time. The eight-time champion clearly wants to join his rivals for the 2021 MotoGP season-opener at Losail on 28 March, and so his rehab continues, full steam ahead.

Who can stop him?

Having completed a useful training session at Montmelò, he now tells us, via his Instagram profile, that he’s lapping at Portimão, in Portugal. A track that featured on the calendar for the first time last year, and one at which he was unable to race. This year, the Spaniard is clearly aiming to secure his ninth title, despite having been away from his RC213V for almost seven months, and so is currently clocking up the miles with the road version.

He’ll be at something of a disadvantage in Qatar, seeing as his rivals have recently completed a five-day test there, but Stefan Bradl - his stand-in during the 2020 season - has moved forward with the development work, as the bike awaits the return of its rightful owner.
