Having sustained an injury during free practice at the Qatar GP, Barry Baltus has undergone surgery in Belgium and will return in time for Jerez. So at the Portimao circuit, it is British rider Fraser Rogers who will ride the the RW Racing team’s second NTS bike alongside Hafizh Syahrin.

A former Red Bull Rookie, the 25-year old Brit has been a fixed presence in the BSB series for several seasons. This year he will compete in the Superstock class with the Aprilia RSV4 1100 of the In Competition team. This will be his first appearance in Moto2, but he has already demonstrated that he has what it takes to do well in such a competitive series.

The Swindon native is excited about the opportunity: "I’m so thankful to the Jarno Janssen and the RW Racing team for giving me this opportunity to do the job. It’s going to be a very steep learning curve so I have no expectations but to learn, improve, enjoy and do my 100% best".
