Not only Jerez. In light of Andrea Dovizioso’s constructive test session with Aprilia this week, he has decided to complete another two-day session with the Noale manufacturer. On 11-12 May, he will be testing the RS-GP at a track that is very familiar to him: Mugello.

Dovizioso likes the RS-GP

Dovi has clearly enjoyed the experience of riding the Aprilia at Jerez: “A great feeling to be back on a MotoGP", he said at the end of the three-day session. Three days of intense work in which Andrea first adapted to a bike he did not know and then gradually began to provide some initial technical feedback re the engine, electronics, chassis and aerodynamics, his opinions important in terms of guiding any modifications to the basic package.

Dovizioso was not focusing on lap times, as this was not the main objective of the test. But the Italian definitely liked the RS-GP and has decided to carry out another test at Mugello on 11-12 May.

His comments following the test

“Getting back in the saddle of a MotoGP bike was quite a thrill and for this I wish to thank Aprilia Racing - commented Dovizioso – These were three very interesting days, dedicated largely to finding the best position on the bike. Together, we decided to do another test at Mugello in about one month and in the meantime work on a few aspects of the bike.”

Aprilia Racing technical director Romano Albesiano adds: “These were three very interesting days, partly because of the pleasure and interest in sharing the vision that Andrea gave us of the MotoGP bike. His experience showed us a clear and analytical method in approaching the fine tuning of the bike. We had a sincere exchange of ideas with him and we appreciated that. I hope he felt the same way about it.”
