Now almost a necessity, various riders including Fabio Quartararo, Jack Miller, Iker Lecuona and Alessandro Delbianco have undergone surgery in recent months after suffering from compartmental syndrome. And now it’s the turn of Aleix Espargaró, who has been operated on following the French GP at Le Mans.

A necessary sacrifice

Like almost all riders, the Spaniard trusted in the skilled hands of Doctor Mir and his medical team. The operation was a success and the number 41 rider can already start his rehabilitation so that he’s back in shape in time for Mugello which, at least on paper, should be a track that suits the characteristics of the Aprilia.

Considering the results that Fabio Quartararo and Jack Miller have achieved since their surgeries, it seems that the operation is a necessary sacrifice in order to get back in top shape and be competitive once more.
