MotoGP: the collaboration between Dovizioso and Aprilia continues

After sessions at Jerez and Mugello, Andrea Dovizioso will continue to test the RS-GP throughout the 2021 season. The collaboration between Aprilia and Dovi is therefore set to progress with an upcoming test at Misano on 23-24 June.

While Andrea was able to get to grips with the bike at Jerez, the Mugello session was interrupted by rain, so both parties are keen to make the most of future opportunities.

"As we weren’t able to test in the dry at Mugello - explains Andrea - I’m pleased that Aprilia Racing has asked me to continue the work we began at Jerez and contribute to the development of the bike. I think this is an advantage for us both, allowing me to continue to train with a MotoGP bike ahead of a possible return in 2022, and allowing Aprilia to receive some useful feedback. For this reason, we’ve decided to carrry out more tests”.

After all, the RS-GP and the entire Noale squad are performing well on track at present, the results having only improved since the start of the season. And the tests Dovi will carry out will contribute to improving the situation for the whole team: “Our RS-GP project underwent a real revolution last year – said Aprilia technical director Romano Albesiano – and now we can finally push on with development. The first part of 2021 has been very positive, and we’ve seen clear improvements. Being able to plan a work schedule with Andrea is a great opportunity to accelerate and consolidate this growth. Already during our first two outings, we’ve touched on many aspects that we can now consider more closely as we seek the very best performance for our fledgling project”.
