The test day following on from the Catalunya GP was very important for both Marc Marquez and team HRC. While on the one hand the Spaniard was able to complete 87 laps, working to regain the necessary confidence in the saddle, Honda was also able to test some new components for the RC213-V.

Marc is pleased with the work completed, although he is physically drained: “I’m really shattered, but I needed a day like this to get back to riding the bike as I know how. The aim was to complete many laps and that’s what we did, though I preferred not to push at the end of the day so as not to overly stress my arm. Fortunately we now have a short break before the next race, where I hope to be in better physical shape".

"We worked a lot on the aerodynamics"

The team carried out various tests, particularly in the aerodynamics area: "We’ve worked hard on the aerodynamics throughout the day, because we have the chance to homologate a new fairing. We’re not talking big differences, but rather details that can help us at the fastest tracks. During the next Misano test we’ll continue in this direction".

"As for the laboratory bike, I can’t say anything. The engine is the same, but the balancing is different. The bike was all black, it’s true, but it wasn’t totally new”, concludes the eight-time champion.
