MotoGP: the two races in Austria will be open to the public

The world championship begins to return to normality and will welcome spectators to the Red Bull Ring

The two races set to run in Austria on 8 and 15 August will be open to the public. The news has been confirmed by Dorna, which confirms that grandstands can be used to full capacity, while respecting the rules in forces.

As explained by the promoter, the Red Bull Ring gates will be open to fans who have been fully vaccinated, who have recovered from Covid-19 or who present a negative test result.

"Dorna Sports is pleased to confirm that both the Michelin Stiria GP and the Motorrad von Österreich GP will welcome fans to the grandstands in 2021", the note confirms. "Fans will be able to access the iconic Spielberg circuit for both the Stiria and Austria GP rounds".

This will be the first time grandstands have been at full capacity since the pandemic began, after Barcelona welcomed spectators equating to just 20% of its capacity.

The entire paddock will nevertheless remain isolated inside its bubbles as it has been since the start of the season.
