As rumoured, the Spaniard will test the Noale bike during testing at the Italian track on 31 August and 1 September
The rumours that were circulating last week are now confirmed, and it is the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli that will be the stage for initial contact between Maverick Viñales and Aprilia during a two-day test on 31 August-1 September.
This will allow the former Yamaha rider to build confidence with the RS-GP, ahead of a possible wildcard appearance already this season.
"From a technical standpoint, it’s always fascinating to hear the impressions of a rider who gets on your bike for the first time”, comments an enthusiastic Romano Albesiano, technical director at Aprilia Racing.
"Especially a champion like Maverick, whom we have the pleasure of welcoming to the Aprilia Racing family. After the great work that the race department has done over the last two years, we now add another piece to the growth path that we continue to travel along with encouraging results”.
Albesiano knows that it will take a little time for the Spaniard to adapt: “This initial approach involves a very practical adaptation phase, both in terms of ergonomics and personal rider preferences. But I’m sure that Maverick’s talent and speed will emerge and I can’t wait to start working together”.
