The Spaniard will compete in his first GP with the Noale manufacturer, riding the RS-GP after an initial test that went according to plan
The Aragón track will be the stage on which Maverick Viñales and Aprilia make their debut appearance in a race, and there is inevitably a great deal of interest. The only test they have completed together to date proved extremely positive and after just a day’s work, it was immediately announced that the Spaniard will compete in the last six championship races wearing Aprilia colours. This all comes at what is an extremely positive moment for Aprilia, which has scored its first MotoGP podium with Aleix Espargaró, and on the wave of: “This is just the beginning”.
The Spaniard was extremely enthusiastic in the garage at Misano, his joy palpable. And now things start to get serious. So what can we expect from this new pairing? The RS-GP is clearly competitive, as proved by Aleix Espargaró at Silverstone, but Viñales still has a lot to discover, study, learn and improve. While the Spaniard is in his fifth season with Aprilia, the 26-year old’s journey starts now, but he has everything he needs and the aim is start out on the right foot. Will he succeed?
