MotoGP, Marc Márquez: “I always enjoy racing at Aragón”

When you think of the Aragón track, it’s likely you’ll connect it with Marc Márquez, the undisputed winner from 2016 to 2019, but also in 2013 and, if we look even further back, again in Moto2 in 2011. Basically this is one of the Honda rider’s favourite rounds and, having missed the 2020 double-header, he’s keen to bring home a good result this season.

Márquez comments: “Aragón is always a track that I enjoy racing at and we have had strong results there in the past. But we can’t rely on what we did in the past, in 2021 we arrive there in a different situation so have to approach the weekend in the correct way, see our level and see what our opponents are doing”.

The eight-time champion is not setting his expectations too high but admits: “In recent races we have been closer to the front so the aim is to continue this and see what’s possible on Sunday”. Might this be the track at which he scores his second win of the season, after that at the Sachsenring in Germany? Anything could happen and he ends by saying: “It’s great to be back racing at MotorLand after missing the rounds in 2020 and hopefully we can put on a good show for the fans”.
