Just ahead of the Misano GP comes confirmation that Sam Lowes will continue to wear Marc VDS team colours in Moto2 in 2022. His new team-mate will be Tony Arbolino. The Englishman and the team have announced the news today, on what is the rider’s 31st birthday. And there is no denying that the two parties have ambitious goals.

Sam in seventh heaven

Sam wrote:Proud to continue for 2022 with this great team. Thanks to Marc for the continued support and I look forward to improving in some areas to fight for the title next year! It’s important to love and enjoy what you do ….. I have an amazing group of people and couldn’t be happier to continue working with every single one of them. Also will be nice sharing the garage with Tony Arbolino and I am sure he will be very competitive in his second season in Moto2. Sorry Gilles Bigot but you will have to put up with me for another season!!! Now time for Misano.”

The news comes ahead of another championship round and we are reminded that the English rider has scored three podiums, two of which race wins, as well as two fourth places and five pole positions to date this year.  He will therefore be more determined than ever to battle for the title during what will be his ninth Moto2 season.
