Gresini Racing will have a brand-new look in Moto2 next season. During the San Marino GP at Misano, the team has confirmed its rider line-up for the 2022 season, namely Alessandro Zaccone, already a frontrunner in the CEV Moto2 class in the past and this year’s MotoE leader, and young Czech rider Filip Salac, who makes the move from Moto3.

2022 will also see a change in management, in that the Moto2 project will be steered by Luca Gresini, Fausto’s son, in the role of team manager.

The riders’ comments

Zaccone believes this to be the right opportunity for him: "I’m really happy to be back with Gresini Racing, particularly in Moto2. I’ve been working towards this for many years and finally here’s the opportunity I was looking for. I’m sure we’ll have the best material and I think racing with an Italian team of this level is the way to begin in the category. I’m certain we won’t waste this great opportunity”.

Sala? is also pleased and can’t wait to debut in this new category: "I’m really happy to come to Gresini Racing, a team that I consider among the best in the paddock and that has huge experience in this category. I honestly can’t wait for 2022 to start and to move up to this class. It means so much to me, with MotoGP moving another step closer. I’ll do my very best to prove myself".
