The Doctor completed 56 laps during Tuesday’s test at Misano, Dovi 51. Both are satisfied with the work being done in the Yamaha SRT garage. Here, their impressions at the end of the day
The first day of testing at Misano left the two Petronas Yamaha riders with good impressions as they clocked up the miles aboard the M1.
Valentino Rossi is satisfied, eleventh at the end of day one of testing: “We had a good day, I’m quite fast and was able to ride better than I did last weekend” he commented. “I’ve improved in terms of braking and corner entry, the lap time isn’t bad. We didn’t have many things to test but focused on the balance of the bike”.
Contrary to the original plan, the Doctor will remain at the Misano World Circuit for the second day of testing: “Yes, I’ll be here. We’ll continue to work on the setting”.
Andrea Dovizioso also had positive things to say: “It was one of those days where the track is faster and everyone improves. My feeling is improving, and I can be more aggressive”, explains the Italian, sixteenth and one good second from Bagnaia. “It’s nice to feel I still have a margin when I start to push”.
“We’ve worked on braking, and now I need to continue to adapt my riding style”, concludes the former Ducati rider. “Understanding the new Michelins and improving the balance in braking are fundamental aspects. Every day I feel more comfortable on the M1 and that’s important”.
