AmericasGP, Rossi: “Austin? We had a fantastic weekend last time”

After the Misano GP and the subsequent tests, the Sepang Racing Team now prepares for the challenging Austin round. A track that saw Valentino Rossi celebrating in 2019, when he crossed the line second and battled for the win with Alex Rins.

Rossi: “I feel positive”

"I really like Austin and the last time we raced there, it was a great weekend for me”, recalls the Doctor ahead of the AmericasGP. “I was very strong in both Qualifying and the race, and I finished on the podium. We will see what happens when we get there but it is really nice that we are able to have this overseas event this season and I am really looking forward to being back there”.

Rossi appears confident, despite a limited number of strong performances this season: We will need to get there to understand what our potential can be, but I’m feeling positive and hopefully we can improve some of the things that we need to, so that we can have a good race.”

Dovizioso: “We have a lot of work to do”

Andrea Dovizioso, new team-mate to #46, is realistic as he heads into this next round: "There are still a lot of areas that I need to work on, but it was good to have the Misano Test to help increase my time on the bike", begins the Italian, having recently returned to MotoGP after a year away. He's under no illusions though: "I’m not sure what to expect from this weekend, as I will need to see what situation the track is in and I will need to find where the grip is. It is a very demanding track and last time I was there the track had a lot of bumps, however I think they have made some changes since then. The weather will of course have an impact, but it will be the same for everyone. It’s very difficult to predict what will happen but I hope to continue making progress this weekend".
