No Fantic for Arenas: Albert will race with KTM Ajo in Moto2

No Fantic for Arenas: Albert will race with KTM Ajo in Moto2

The 2020 Moto3 champion will join the Red Bull team, flanking Pedro Acosta

Just as a deal with Fantic looked to be done, the news comes that it will in fact be Niccolò Antonelli who will pair up with Celestino Vietti Ramus. Albert Arenas has had to put himself back on the Moto2 market, finding an interesting solution for 2023 in the shape of the Red Bull sponsored KTM Ajo team.

Out with Augusto Fernandez, in with Albert Arenas

The team steered by the Finnish Ajo family knows what it’s doing, as proved by its world titles and current results. Augusto Fernandez is currently fighting for the Moto2 crown, and will then move up to MotoGP. The Spaniard is headed for GASGAS – we remind you that Hervé Poncharal’s team will field KTM bikes - leaving room for Arenas.

And Albert, with the ultimate prize achieved in Moto3 in 2020 already in hand, will go from GASGAS Aspar - which field Kalex bikes equipped with Triumph engines – to sharing a garage with a certain Pedro Acosta, he too a former world champion. The 18-year old from Mazaron beat everyone in the 2021 cadet class.
