You can forget this article, or at least file it away until next year. The 2023 MotoGP calendar had included the Sokol International Racetrack among its circuits, but this round has now been removed from the list of dates.

No Kazakhstan for MotoGP, Aragón a possible replacement for India

Dorna has confirmed the reason for the cancellation, in that the track, located in the middle of an enormous desert, has not yet received international homologation. And without this, there can be no GP. The event was meant to take place in early July, over the weekend of 7-9. After which the bikes would have remained in the garage until 3 August, the summer break lasting until the Silverstone weekend. The Organiser does not plan to add any replacement round.

India is another event under observation but, in that case, the Motorland Aragón circuit would serve as a valid alternative.
