For a second consecutive year, and again due to Covid-19, the world’s oldest road race will not run. The Classic TT also in doubt
It’s bad news for the world of road racing. For the second consecutive year, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy will not take place due to the impossibility of ensuring a totally safe event, given the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the organiser's best efforts, event dates even having been released, visitors will not be able to visit the island between Great Britain and Ireland to watch what is normally the most important road race of the year.

Laurence Skelly, Isle of Man Minister for Enterprise comments, “We do not underestimate the disappointment that this decision will cause to many people. However, we are making an early and logical decision to provide certainty and clarity to race fans and everyone else involved in our event.
“We remain hopeful that the Classic TT can take place later in September and we look forward to welcoming the riders and many visitors to our Island again, but without a vaccine the risks are too high and it’s hard to make predictions right now”, adds Skelly.
