The FHO Racing rider has carried out testing aboard the new German manufacturer’s new Superbike at the Spanish circuit of Cartagena, ahead of the new British Superbike season

The upcoming season brings new things for Peter Hickman, who will compete in British Superbike aboard the brand new BMW M1000RR and as part of Faye Ho’s new FHO Racing team, alongside team-mate Xavi Forés.
Hickman will have to do without his road racing this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will therefore concentrate solely on the track, with the aim of reaching the Showdown as he did in 2019.
Positive sensations
"Hicky" has had chance to test the BMW M1000RR at the Cartagena track in his role as test rider for Alpha Racing. Though not in its BSB configuration, the Englishman thinks the new bike seems better than the S1000RR, particular in terms of its handling and rideability.
2020 was not an easy year for BMW in the British series, none of its riders able to achieve significant results. The new bike and a high-level line-up, with riders of the calibre of Hickman, Forés, Irwin, Buchan, Ray and Ryde, might just be able to buck the negative trend.
