Saturday 28 May proved to be a memorable day for Valentino Rossi, who was at Mugello in the morning for the ceremony that saw his legendary number 46 withdrawn from competition.

A moment that moved the fans in attendance at the Tuscan racetrack. "Thanks everyone’s, it’s been great, it’s been fun”, commented Valentino at the end of the ceremony. “And this ceremony has been fun too, doing it here at Mugello has a special flavour, as this was always my home GP.”
Vasco: "Rossi is the greatest"
Having left the Italian track, Valentino travelled to Imola in the evening in order to be at the concert of Vasco Rossi, one of his favourite singers. The two have been friends for years, the rockstar even inviting the nine-time world champion onto the stage during the event.
“I want to say hi to the greatest of all time - Valentino Rossi”, said Vasco before inviting Valentino up. “He’s the greatest of them all”, concluded the singer after embracing the former MotoGP rider.
