Progress towards a more environmentally conscious world continues, also in the two-wheeled world, with electric bikes and eco-friendly fuel. As for the latter, the Japanese motorcycling federation has taken a big step forward, having opted to use a fuel that is 100% sustainable as of 2023.

We are talking about Renewablaze NIHON R100, a fuel produced by ETS that will be used in the Japanese Superbike championship. This marks an important step forward in terms of respect for the environment. The MFJ Superbike championship will be the world’s first motorcycle series to introduce a completely renewable fuel, steering the motorsport industry towards more sustainable fuel solutions.

Into a new era

"The global mobility industry is moving towards carbon neutrality”, comments Tetsuo Suzuki, President of the Motorcycle Federation of Japan, “and motorsport is committed to this target as well. Together with four Japanese manufacturers, we have decided to introduce for the first time in global motorcycle racing a 100% non-fossil fuel. Motorsport must become a sustainable sport to be socially accepted. I am very proud to work with ETS Racing Fuels to set an important milestone.”

“ETS Racing Fuels has long been considered synonymous with cutting-edge performance in the global motorcycle industry”, adds Yann Labia, Global Manager for ETS Racing Fuels. “Our numerous world championship titles in categories such as Motocross, Superbike, Supersport and Moto GP are a proof of ETS’ support for its customers. We are very pleased to add another innovation with Renewablaze R100, our drop-in solutions for fully sustainable fuels.”
