WorldSBK, Covid-19 stops Go Eleven: no Misano test for Davies

The Ducati team cannot get British crew chief Pete Jennings to Italy due to travel restrictions. After the rained-off Jerez sessions, the Welsh rider postpones his 2021 debut yet again

While Aruba Factory and Barni Racing prepare to test at the Marco Simoncelli circuit, team Go Eleven is forced to stay at home. The reasons are complex, but with Europe still in the midst of the pandemic, travel, and particularly air travel, remains complicated.

It’s one thing to drive from Cuneo to reach Romagna, but quite another to travel from the UK to Misano. And Chaz Davies’ British crew chief Pete Jennings would have to do just that. Aside from the negative Covid tests he would require, the technician would also be forced to adhere to a long quarantine period.

And would it all be worth it for (perhaps) just one day - or afternoon if the teams were to use their ‘slots’ - of work?  After missing out on Jerez, the Ramello-Sacchetti outfit has decided to postpone the number 7 rider’s debut until a better time. In the hope that a better time soon arrives.
