The production-derived paddock welcomes back Maria Herrera. As rumoured in recent weeks, the Spanish rider will take part in the WorldSSP championship, riding the team Motoxracing Yamaha R6.

Rieti’s team thus replaces Axel Bassani, who moves to Superbike with team Motocorsa, and has high hopes for the 2021 season. “I’m pleased to announce this agreement - explains team manager Sandro Carusi – as having the only women rider on the grid will spur us on even more. We have a real opportunity to demonstrate our value”.

Herrera: “Positive opinions about the team convinced me”

“I chose this team because many people say good things about Sandro and the bike, as well as the team and its potential", comments Maria Herrera, who already has significant experience in the category. “They have all the ingredients to allow me to work in the right way, so I think I’ll be able to have fun and be fast”.

The Spanish rider can not only count on the help of team Motoxracing, but also on Yamaha, which will provide factory support, as confirmed by Andrea Dosoli: “Sandro (Carusi) and his team have already offered many talented young riders a great opportunity in WorldSSP300, and it’s great to see that they continue to do so in the 600 class. Maria is an impressive, versatile young rider, who brings solid experience to the team. I expect them to be able to achieve great things together.
