SSP300: Isis Carreño to make history with wildcard entry at Misano

Among the stars of this year’s Women's European Cup is Isis Carreño, who stood out at Mugello but particularly at Misano, just missing out on the podium by a few thousandths of a second.  And it’s at the same Marco Simoncelli track that the young Chilean will make her debut in the Supersport 300 world championship on 11-13 June, riding the Kawasaki of team GP3 Pasama and thus becoming the first Latin American female to take part in a world championship race.

This will be a great opportunity for Carreño who, after some events in Spain and numerous titles in South America, is proving just how competitive she is among the female competitors at European level. She now has the chance to line up on the world stage, with a view to a possible full-time entry in the 2022 championship.

GP3 Pasama team manager Antonio D'Angelo doesn’t hide his enthusiasm: “We’re really pleased to be entered as a Latin American team, but particularly happy for Isis, who will become the first South American female rider to race in a world championship round, so she’ll be writing a piece of history.
