A press release, issued in French by Jean Christophe Ponsson, the owner of Gil Motosport Yamaha, confirms that the collaboration between Alstare and Christophe Ponsson - rider number 23 - has officially come to an end. This means that we won’t see the historic yellow and blue colours at the Assen round.

And we won’t see the R1 either, because - as the release continues - the project will now undergo a reorganisation, Ponsson Senior very sorry about Francis Batta’s ill health, with the Alstare manager in need of further treatment.

The Belgian manager has been advised to rest by his doctors, and this means no travelling. Father Ponsson wishes him a swift recovery and promises to do all he can to be back in the paddock soon, probably in time for the sixth SBK round at Most.
