WorldSBK, Hungary ready to return to the 2022 calendar

Making the most of Peter Sebestyen’s presence, the Hungarian government is setting about building a new facility, of interest to both WorldSBK and MotoGP

The number 56 in action is Peter Sebestyen, a rider who competes for Evan Bros, the Yamaha team that races in World Supersport and also fields Steven Odendaal. The Hungarian rider flanks the South African on Fabio Evangelista’s team.

The Hungarian government has approved the move and will go even further, the powers that be working to welcome the WorldSBK series. In the past, it has run at the Hungaroring, a track that has also hosted Formula 1 and MotoGP, but this next facility will be all new.

Work is in progress to attract as many events as possible, including the MotoGP and its related classes.  And Supersport is included in this of course, as part of the SBK package. A first piece of the 2022 calendar puzzle perhaps, with more to follow of course.
