Andy Verdoia is in for two very busy weekends. The talented Frenchman will line up on the CIV SS600 grid at Mugello this weekend, riding the Gomma Racing Yamaha R6 and will then travel on to Magny-Cours for the French World Supersport round on 4-5 September, where he’ll be riding a team GMT94 bike.

This will mark a return to the world championship for Andy who already competed last year, scoring good results and, particularly, a win in the race at Barcelona. The number 25 rider will flank the rest of the team’s riders, or rather Jules Cluzel and Valentin Debise, forming an all-French trio.

Verdoia: "A good opportunity for the future"

The rider doesn’t conceal his happiness: "I can’t wait to race in the world championship again and I’ll make the most of every lap. It’s an important opportunity to return to the world championship with a very experienced team that can give me a lot of advice for the future, so I want to thank Yamaha and Christophe Guyot for this chance".

Christophe Guyot is also pleased, knowing he’s selected the right rider: "During recent rounds, we’ve fielded local wildcards who were particularly deserving, but for young and inexperienced riders it’s not easy. Andy has raced in the world championship before, and I’m sure that his experience and talent can see us score some good results".
