A serious incident involving Luca Bernardi, Dominique Aegerter and Jules Cluzel during the second Supersport 600 race at Magny Cours saw the San Marino rider spend Sunday night at the Nevers hospital. Initial tests have revealed the damage sustained by the CM Racing rider.

Recovery time to be determined

As reported by his team, Bernardi has fractured his T12 vertebra, an injury that has meant Luca has been transferred to the "Bufalini" hospital in Cesena.

Luca will now begin his recovery, but it looks likely that he will have to sit out the Barcelona, Jerez and Portimão rounds. A real blow for the number 29 rider, who was doing great things. After podiums at Estoril and Misano, Bernardi scored his first SSP600 pole position at Magny-Cours, before sustaining an injury that will keep him away from the racetrack for a while.
