WorldSBK, Cresson attacks Pedercini: “Unjustified contract violation”

The Belgian rider’s entourage takes a stand: "The bike is our property. Loris is at Assen, but his pass has already been deactivated"

The Loris Cresson case intensifies ahead of the Assen round. Yesterday, we explained how the collaboration between the Belgian rider and the Pedercini team has come to an abrupt end after just one round, but the problems appear far from resolved. Following official announcements by the team and the Superbike channels, Cresson has issued a cutting press release, in which he attacks the Italian team.

“Firstly - explains Cresson’s entourage – no agreement has been made between the parties as to the termination of the contract. So we are therefore victims of an unjustified contract violation. Following the team's announcement concerning the end of the relationship, Loris and those around him have tried to talk to the team, but without success”.

Paddock already off limits

But the accusations don’t end there. Cresson and his entourage are on-site at the Dutch circuit, but have been treated in an unexpected and surprising way. “We’re at Assen to collect Loris’ personal belongings but he found he was unable to enter the paddock, as his pass has already been deactivated”.

The Cresson press release ends with a bang, revealing figures and requests for further sums from the team, apparently made just a few days prior to the scandal.

The bike that’s been used since the start of the year belongs to the rider’s company, as do a large part of the mechanical parts, for an overall value of roughly 60,000 Euro. A few days before the team made its announcement, it had requested funds from Loris, despite this playing no part in the contract”. It looks as if there are many issues still to be resolved then, with further updates likely to come soon.
