WorldSBK, Pedercini refutes Cresson's claims: “He didn’t fulfil his obligations”

The team TPR owner: "He knew we were terminating the contract, and the bike belongs to the team. There was contractual deadlines that he didn’t respect"

Things are hotting up at Assen, but talk of the Cresson-Pedercini case continues in the Superbike paddock, the two parties having acrimoniously parted ways just ahead of this second championship round. A sequence of events that team TPR owner Lucio Pedercini feels he must comment on, refuting statements that the Belgian rider has previously made.

“I don’t want to continue to fuel this case”, begins Lucio, “But I need to clarify that the claims made by Cresson and his entourage are all false. As for Loris, I can say that he absolutely knew about this contract termination before the weekend, and I have proof of this. Our decision to terminate the contract came down to the fact that the rider failed to fulfil a series of different obligations".

Pedercini: "Deadlines not respected, Haslam is a professional”

Nothing to do with the financial situation then, another aspect that Lucio clarifies, following on from Cresson’s remarks.

“The mechanical parts he mentions are not his, and nor is the bike, which belongs to the team as you’d expect. I didn’t ask for additional financing either. There were contractual deadlines, which I deem normal, which were not respected. I also didn’t ask for any extra money, only that which was agreed upon in advance".

In the meantime, the track action continues, with team TPR hard at work with returning Leon Haslam at Assen.

“Leon arrived last night, at 1am, after testing at Oulton Park for BSB, but he was already in the garage before 8 this morning, which really shows his professionalism. Our current plan is to complete this round and the four other rounds already agreed upon with him, while for the others (starting with Estoril), we’ll need to find a replacement".
