A race against time   The last cargo plane only took off from Tucuman airport on Wednesday evening, with the material expected to be delivered to teams some time on Thursday. The tragedy   As if that weren&rsquo;t enough, the world championship paddock has also been shaken by a tragic event. While the crates were being transported from the Termas circuit to Tucuman airport, a policeman riding a motorcycle lost his life while escorting a fleet of trucks transporting containers destined for Austin.  The lorries got snarled up on the San Cayetano bridge, forcing drivers to break hard. The last in the line was unable to stop in time, hitting policeman Juan Espinoza. Tragedy shakes MotoGP ahead of the Americas GP

After seeing him ride the CBR600RR at the Alcarras circuit yesterday, we were almost expecting the news, and this morning has brought confirmation - Marc Marquez will compete in the Austin GP. The rider posted a picture of himself at the airport on social media, as he sets off for the Circuit of the Americas, where he&rsquo;ll be back aboard his RC213V, a bike that was ridden by Honda test rider Stefan Bradl during the Argentinian GP.  Marquez has recovered from diplopia   The HRC release reads: &ldquo;Doctors have cleared Marc Marquez for a return to Grand Prix competition after his fall in Warm Up at the Indonesian GP and subsequent diplopia diagnosis&rdquo;. He was already feeling better last week, and now, following a conservative treatment plan, his symptoms have disappeared. Yesterday&rsquo;s test was positive and the rider cannot wait to race this weekend, on a track at which he has always dominated no less.  The Circuit of the Americas smiles upon him   &ldquo;Of course I am very happy to be back&rdquo;, admits the Repsol Honda rider, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a great feeling to return and especially to do it at one of my favourite tracks. No matter the situation, I really enjoy riding in Texas and have incredible memories there. We have some work to do after missing two races and the whole Argentina weekend so I am not here to set one target at the moment. While down on the asphalt I was thinking about everything that has happened in these last few weeks, seeing as I was sixth and there were so many bikes behind me that could have gone over me&rdquo; comments Alcoba thinking back to the recent tragedy involving Dean Berta Vi&ntilde;ales. &ldquo;None of the riders involved were hurt, but that was sheer luck", concludes the Spaniard. Americas GP Moto3, Alcoba’s dread: “I was scared out of my wits”

        Valentino Rossi finished the latest race in Austin in fifteenth place. Not a fantastic result but one that at least allowed the Doctor to score one championship point. Rossi: &ldquo;A decent result considering my speed&rdquo;  &ldquo;It was one of the hardest races of my career physically-speaking. This track is really demanding, there&rsquo;s a lot of hard braking, changes of direction, potholes and it was very hot too&rdquo;, commented the Italian. &ldquo;My race was decent, I put in the medium rear tyre which allowed me to be consistent and make a few passes. I didn&rsquo;t really like the soft, I tried it during warm-up but we did the right thing to choose the medium.&rdquo; &ldquo;Today&rsquo;s MotoGP is very tough, you&rsquo;re already tired on Sunday after the Friday and Saturday sessions. You have to be really fit and young, we&rsquo;ll try to train more but the &lsquo;being young&rsquo; aspect is difficult for me (he laughs)&rdquo;. &ldquo;Oncu? Missing two races is the very least&rdquo;  Valentino went on to comment on the terrible accident in Moto3 that also involved his rider, Andrea Migno. According to Rossi, the penalty Oncu received (he will miss two races) is correct: &ldquo;I think it&rsquo;s right, the very least in fact. Race Direction must do something right away because the situation is out of control. Restarting the Moto3 race with just five laps available is like playing Russian roulette&rdquo;. &ldquo;Oncu veered along the straight causing a potentially fatal accident. Rossi then criticised Race Direction&rsquo;s decision to restart the race: &ldquo;A five-lap sprint was dangerous. It would have been better to try and move Salac right away without bringing out the red flag. Definitely the wrong thing to do, but the worst thing is the riders&rsquo; behaviour. From when they&rsquo;re very young, they&rsquo;re taught to try and hinder their rival and what happened today was dramatic. They&rsquo;re crazy, you can&rsquo;t change trajectory along the straight like that&rdquo;. &ldquo;Punishing the guy who messing up, by leaving him at home, is correct, because he&rsquo;ll think twice about doing a similar thing in the future. I&rsquo;d also add that the dangerous riders are always the same guys. The stewards should also deal with this, educating those who go too far&rdquo;.         The upcoming Americas GP at Austin is an important event for Marc Marquez, a real specialist around the Texan track at which he won every race between 2013 and 2018. The Spaniard has clear ideas about what to expect: &ldquo;It will definitely be a very different race to Misano and I plan to enjoy myself as much as possible at what is one of my favourite tracks. Austin has a lot of changes of direction and hard braking into left-hand turns, which are my strong point, so if I feel comfortable, the results will come&rdquo;. Marquez: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a difficult time for the motorcycle world&rdquo;  The eight-time champion went on to talk about the recent passing of Dean Berta Vi&ntilde;ales and what the young rider&rsquo;s death represents: &ldquo;Firstly I want to say that my thoughts are with Maverick and his family at this difficult time. After the Misano GP and the subsequent tests, the Sepang Racing Team now prepares for the challenging Austin round. A track that saw Valentino Rossi celebrating in 2019, when he crossed the line second and battled for the win with Alex Rins.  Rossi: &ldquo;I feel positive&rdquo;   &quot;I really like Austin and the last time we raced there, it was a great weekend for me&rdquo;, recalls the Doctor ahead of the AmericasGP. &ldquo;I was very strong in both Qualifying and the race, and I finished on the podium. We will see what happens when we get there but it is really nice that we are able to have this overseas event this season and I am really looking forward to being back there&rdquo;. Marquez: &quot;I always have fun here&quot;   &ldquo;I am looking forward to Austin and we&rsquo;re arriving there after two good races&rdquo;, starts Marquez. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a layout that I like and in the past we have had a lot of success but this year is a little bit different with our situation arriving there. Like always, it&rsquo;s going to be important to build over the weekend and see where we line up on Sunday morning. No matter what it will be great to return because it&rsquo;s a round I always enjoy a lot&rdquo;. He likes the track and it&rsquo;s hard to not imagine him up in the leading group.  Polyccio is confident   Team-mate Pol Espargar&oacute; will also be aiming for a solid weekend: &ldquo;After a good test I am excited to head to Austin, it&rsquo;s a fun track to ride and it will be great to see some more MotoGP fans outside of Europe. Da Austin (Texas): Luca Bologna  Valentino Rossi ha chiuso in sesta posizione la prima giornata di prove libere sul circuito di Austin, teatro del GP delle Americhe questo weekend. Il miglior crono del pesarese &egrave; stato un giro in &nbsp;2'20''593 sul bagnato e 2'05''691 siglato negli ultimi 18 minuti del turno, quando l'asfalto andava asciugandosi. Il suo tempo &egrave; a soli&nbsp; 856 millesimi dal crono messo a segno da Marc Marquez. E a fine giornata, Rossi non &egrave; scontento.  "E&rsquo; stato importante girare sul bagnato perch&eacute; l&rsquo;anno scorso non ho mai avuto un buon feeling con la YZR-M1 in queste condizioni. Abbiamo cambiato parecchio il setting della moto ed cos&igrave; ho chiuso quarto sul bagnato, un buon risultato &ndash; ha detto Valentino Rossi &ndash; Sull&rsquo;asciutto vado meglio. Sono sesto, e questo perch&eacute; ho incontrato&nbsp; traffico nel mio giro veloce, quindi avrei potuto fare meglio. Dobbiamo ancora lavorare, ma la prima impressione della moto non &egrave; poi cos&igrave; male.&rdquo;  Questa non &egrave; una pista favorevole alla Yamaha. Marc Marquez a Austin ha vinto le due edizioni, qui le Honda vanno fortissimo.  &ldquo;Sono a 8 decimi da Marquez che ad Austin non sono tantissimi ma nemmeno pochi, l&rsquo;anno scorso eravamo comunque pi&ugrave; distanti. Avrei anche potuto essere pi&ugrave; veloce, perch&eacute; nell&rsquo;ultimo giro ho trovato Bradl e Melandri che mi hanno fatto perdere qualche decimo. Inoltre in classifica davanti a me ci sono almeno due piloti che hanno usato la gomma extra-soft, Iannone e Aleix, mentre non sono sicuro di Dovizioso&rdquo;.    Pi&ugrave; cauto il compagno di squadra di Valentino, Jorge Lorenzo, che ha concluso la giornata segnando come miglior crono il tempo di 2'06''174 che lo piazza in undicesima posizione. Ma per lui ci sono anche altri problemi.  "Fin dalla mattina del venerdi non mi sono sentito bene. Sono partito con un brutto raffreddore e adesso mi sento peggio. Sono pieno di antibiotici - ha detto il maiorchino. Per lui la stagione non &egrave; iniziata nel migliore dei modi. Gi&agrave; a Losail aveva avuto un problema con il casco (leggi QUI) che gli avevano impedito di lottare per il podio". &ldquo;L&rsquo;inizio della nuova stagione non &egrave; stato proprio come ce lo aspettavamo&rdquo;: non si pu&ograve; dare torto a Romano Fenati.&nbsp; Il pilota di punta del Team VR46 di Valentino Rossi in Moto3 ha cominciato male l&rsquo;anno. Moto3, Fenati: &ldquo;Austin, una prova importante per noi&rdquo;

Dopo il Qatar, la MotoGP si sposta in Texas. Per il terzo anno consecutivo si torna al Circuito delle Americhe, meglio conosciuto come COTA, tracciato di 5,5 km sul quale nelle due edizioni precedenti le Honda di Marquez e Pedrosa hanno dominato, piazzando una &ldquo;doppietta&rdquo;.  Questa volta Dani Pedrosa non ci sar&agrave;, sostituito da Aoyama (leggi QUI). In Qatar la Ducati ha confermato di essere tornata protagonista. La nuova GP15 ha dimostrato di esser veloce non solo sul giro singolo, ma anche costante in gara, consentendo ai due Andrea (Dovizioso e Iannone) di salire sul podio. Duplice traguardo che ha fatto perdere subito alle Desmosedici della squadra ufficiale Ducati Team e di quella satellite Pramac Racing due litri di capacit&agrave; dei loro serbatoi, passando immediatamente da 24 a 22 litri (leggi QUI). Proprio ad Austin un anno fa, Dovizioso ottenne il suo primo podio in rosso.    Meglio di cos&igrave; Valentino Rossi non poteva cominciare. In Qatar si &egrave; aggiudicato la vittoria la termine di una gara stupenda (leggi QUI). Potr&agrave; confermarsi e bissare il successo anche a Austin? Il nove-volte iridato ha ancora la stessa fame di 20 anni fa, quando inizi&ograve; a correre nel Campionato del Mondo. Ma il suo miglior risultato al COTA finora &egrave; un modesto 6&deg; posto nel 2013. Meglio sul circuito americano si &egrave; comportato il suo compagno di squadra Jorge Lorenzo; il maiorchino scender&agrave; in pista in cerca del riscatto, dopo aver concluso gi&ugrave; dal podio in Qatar a causa di un problema al casco che gli ostruiva la visuale (leggi QUI).  E la voglia riscatto riguarda anche - soprattutto - Marc Marquez, quinto in Qatar dopo esser andato largo alla prima curva. Appena Jorge Lorenzo &egrave; rientrato, dopo la gara, il capo del racing, Kouichi Tsuji, ha fatto una cosa che non fa mai: ha perso il controllo dei nervi. Si &egrave; diretto verso Lorenzo e lo ha apostrofato a male parole, urlandogli (s&igrave;, raccontano proprio questo) i peggiori improperi per l&rsquo;errore, clamoroso, commesso al via. E quando Jorge ha reagito, abbozzando scuse di vario genere, il capo del racing Yamaha &egrave; andato ancora oltre! Ha alzato ancora di pi&ugrave; la voce, intimando al suo pilota di punta di assumersi le sue responsabilit&agrave;. Lorenzo ha reagito alzandosi e lasciando il box.  Una reazione cos&igrave; non si scatena per una partenza sbagliata, pur se l&rsquo;errore &egrave; clamoroso per un pilota del livello di Lorenzo. si reagisce cos&igrave; se la misura &egrave; colma, se la tensione ha oltrepassato il livello di guardia. Ed &egrave; il caso della Yamaha.  Jorge Lorenzo ha perso il controllo dei nervi e il contatto con la realt&agrave;. Ha passato il week-end litigando con tutti, trattando male chiunque, nel team. Ha creato un clima di tensione enorme, nessuno lavora pi&ugrave; con calma. Bisogna certamente rallegrarsi per il ritorno della Ducati, e dei suoi piloti italiani, nelle posizioni che contano. Bisogna allarmarsi per la trasferta disastrosa della Yamaha, che adesso deve affrontare problemi molto pi&ugrave; seri di una gara che &egrave; semplicemente andata male (ai problemi tecnici si assomma una tensione enorme e, per usare la terminologia calcistica, lo spogliatoio si sta spaccando).  Ma tutto, alla fine, ruota attorno ad una considerazione: seguendo le discussioni sulle regole che aiutano la Ducati &ndash; che corre, non dimentichiamolo, con una serie di agevolazioni &ndash; e quelle riguardanti il tentativo di Valentino Rossi di tornare a lottare per il podio in modo costante, si &egrave; perso di vista qual &egrave; il vero problema per lo spettacolo odierno: l&rsquo;immane divario che separa Marc Marquez e la Honda dal resto del mondo.  Dopo solo due gare bisogna gi&agrave; chiedersi cosa ne sar&agrave; di questa rappresentazione planetaria, e milionaria, se persino l&rsquo;unica rivale della Honda &ndash; la Yamaha, con i suoi due piloti, Rossi e Lorenzo &ndash; continua a navigare in un mare cos&igrave; agitato. E il termine &ldquo;agitato&rdquo;, questa volta, &egrave; quello giusto.  Il GP Americas si &egrave; risolto in una gara ricca di imprevisti ma povera di spettacolo. Jack Miller si &egrave; aggiudicato la vittoria della gara della Moto3 a Austin, Texas, GP della Americhe. Ma la buona notizia per noi &egrave; il secondo posto (per soli 69 millesimi) di Romano Fenati, davanti a Efren Vazquez.  La gara della Moto3 &egrave; stata veramente emozionante, soprattutto nei 5 giri finali, quando in testa si &egrave; piazzato un gruppetto Miller, Vazquez, Fenati e Alex Marquez.  Questi 4 hanno dato spettacolo, passandosi e ripassandosi fino al traguardo, con l&rsquo;esclusione di Marquez junior, caduto all&rsquo;ultimo giro.  &ldquo;Che gara! Mi sono divertito tantissimo - ha spiegato alla fine Fenati, pieno di entusiasmo - Sorpassi all&rsquo;esterno in staccata, duri ma belli. Miller ha resistito all&rsquo;interno senn&ograve; lo fregavo&rdquo;.  Per Miller, che &egrave; partito in pole, questo &egrave; il secondo successo dopo la vittoria all&rsquo;esordio in Qatar. &ldquo;Non &egrave; stato facile perch&eacute; mi sono dovuto difendere per tutta la gara, soprattutto all&rsquo;ultimo giro - ha spiegato l&rsquo;australiano - quindi molta pressione, ma sono riuscito a mantenere la testa a posto. Sapevo di essere veloce&rdquo;.  Vazquez ha terminato terzo, facendo oltretutto i complimenti a Fenati: &ldquo;Gli italiani devono essere orgogliosi di lui&rdquo;.  La gara si &egrave; conlusa quindi con due KTM nei primi due posti.  Per quanto riguarda gli altri italiani, Francesco Bagnaia, compagno di squadra di Fenati nel Team di Valentino Rossi) &egrave; settimo, il rookie del Team Gresini, Enea Bastianini &egrave; in zona punti con il 13&deg; posto. Moto3 Austin: Fenati dietro Miller

Marc Marquez non intende lasciare spazio agli avversari nemmeno nel warm up: il catalano ha voluto mettere l&rsquo;ennesimo sigillo sul tracciato di Austin, anche se a guardare i tempi sembra che sia andato &ldquo;a spasso&rdquo;: il suo miglior giro, infatti, &egrave; stato in 2&rsquo;02&rsquo;&rsquo;773, ovvero 7 decimi pi&ugrave; alto del crono che gli &egrave; valso la pole, ma gli &egrave; stato sufficiente per relegare ancora una volta alle sue spalle tutta la compagine della MotoGP, a cominciare dal compagno di squadra Dani Pedrosa, che questa mattina &egrave; stato pi&ugrave; lento di 3 decimi.  Terzo crono per la prima delle Yamaha: quella di Jorge Lorenzo, che ha preceduto Bradley Smith, mentre Valentino Rossi ha siglato il tempo di 2&rsquo;04&rsquo;&rsquo;417, ovvero un secondo e due decimi pi&ugrave; alto del suo giro veloce in qualifica.  Le due Ducati ufficiali chiudono in settima e ottava posizione con Dovizioso davanti a Crutchlow, ed entrambi precedono Andrea Iannone, sempre pi&ugrave; a suo agio sulla pista texana. Non ha approfittato del warm up per migliorare la sua performance il pilota di casa Nicky Hayden, quattordicesimo. Ventunesimo tempo per Danilo Petrucci con la Ioda.  La classifica
